Kitchen Hutch Made Pretty

Hello! A couple months ago, after pondering for some time, I decided to dive into painting my kitchen hutch. My grandparents gifted the hutch to us and didn't want me to paint it, Yes they are those type! But, I decided it was mine and I needed to love it, so I just had to paint it. I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paints in Ironstone and French Enamel. I mixed the two in order to get a lighter blue for the interior of the hutch. I just want to brag on MMSMP, I have fallen in love with it, it comes in powder form and its all natural with no VOC's. I've used it a few times now and it never disappoints. You can visit Marian's website @ www.missmustardseedsmilkpaint.com to see all the colors available as well as some awesome tutorials!

Here is the hutch before, its a solid wood piece but the color just wasn't doing it for me. I had seen way too many beautiful painted pieces (thanks to Pinterest) to settle for a stained piece.

Here is the hutch after its makeover and all its glory! I painted 2 coats of Ironstone (white), and 2 coats of the blue mix. Then applied a coat of clear MMS furniture wax with a cloth and buffed, buffed, buffed!

I l--o--v--e the way MMSMP randomly chips. This paint had me at "no sanding required"!

Here is a better look at the interior of the piece. I love how the blue goes so well with my china. It also really makes my milk glass pop! If you haven't tried this paint line, I strongly urge you to, it's definitely now my paint of choice.

Hope you guys are having a great week! Happy Painting!
